January
ADU Certified
Joey Kim’s ADU certification from Earth Advantage.
In January, we kicked off the year with our renovation lead, Joey Kim receiving her ADU Certification from Earth Advantage! This certification signifies that Joey is now certified for ADU planning, development, and sustainable practices.
Berryessa Remodel Completed
The new, open-concept kitchen built for our Berryessa remodel.
We also finished our first remodel of 2023, which we had begun the year before. In this build, we tore out the existing 1970’s kitchen to make way for this beautiful open concept. Plus, we did some work on the entryway, including new flooring and adding lighting to the sloped ceiling to brighten things up.
February
NKBA’s Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS)
North America’s premier event for kitchen and bath design kicked off in Vegas in 2023
We also went to the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Vegas in February! There, we met up with our reps at in2aqua and Jobtread and saw countless amazing new kitchen and bath industry innovations.

Joey Kim Honored for Women in Construction Week
Joey Kim for Women in Construction Wee
In March, Joey was featured for NARI’s women in construction week! She was honored for embodying the “knowledge, drive, and determination of NARI members to effect change and create a more diverse workforce.” To read the full feature, head to the NARI site!

In April, we celebrated the grand opening of Stoneville in Sunnyvale! We had great tacos, and got to see their beautiful collection. Now, they’re up and running with a full showroom.
May
In May, we covered what it means to age in place, how to approach a home renovation, and more!
May was National Home Improvement month! We rung in National Home improvement month with posts about newer remodeling ideas such as multifunctional spaces, Murphy Doors, and aging in place, and breaking down How to Approach a Home Renovation.
June
HArts Design+Build is now a proud installer of Viewrail’s floating stairs and railing systems.
In June, HArts Design+Build became a Viewrail Certified Installer! If you don’t know already, Viewrail is a modern stair and railing manufacturer that builds gorgeous floating stairs and chique railings. We’ve already installed one of their beautiful onyx rod railings, and there will be many more to come in 2024!
July
The Mojave Project
The Mojave Kitchen Remodel, complete with new lighting and appliances!
In July, we held a photoshoot for the Mojave project. In this build, we did a full remodel of our client’s kitchen, complete with new flooring, improved lighting, and a whole new look for their kitchen.
Some key features include the beautiful new tile backsplash, the spacious Nantucket sink, and a couple of our favorite storage gadgets. For the full look, check out our Instagram feature!
NARI Accredited
The HArts Design+Build office celebrating NARI Accreditation.
That month, we also became accredited by NARI as providers of the highest level of remodeling services. For more info on what it means to be accredited, check out our page.
Nextdoor Neighborhood Faves
Lastly, to round out the month, we found out that we were voted as a 2023 Neighborhood Fave on Nextdoor. Thank you to everyone for voting for us!
August
The Altino Project
The newly remodeled Altino bathroom
To wrap up the summer, we finished work on the Altino Project, a three-story renovation to restore our client’s home after some severe water damage. We came in to repair the damaged walls, install new flooring, and build a beautiful new master bathroom.

Community Kitchen Remodel
The original look of the Community Kitchen project, before a remodel in the fall.
In September, we began redesigning a community kitchen that needed a makeover. Their kitchen was outdated, and the space wasn’t ideal for their large cooking events. Well, spoiler alert, we were able to give them a much brighter, modern look later that fall. For the final photos, scroll down to November…
October
Women to Women
Joey Kim at W2W 2023
In October, Joey was invited to attend NKBA’s annual Women to Women leadership conference! Out of 400 applicants, only 96 women were invited to attend. The guests came from all over the kitchen and bath industry, from designers, to saleswomen, to product managers, to contractors. Way to go, Joey!
November
Community Kitchen Project
The Community Kitchen project, now newly remodeled!
In November, we officially finished the Community Kitchen remodel! We finished their cabinets, added soft close drawers and cabinet doors, installed a brand-new stove area complete with a range hood, and installed new, quiet lighting. What a transformation!
December
Terrace Pantry Remodel
The Terrace Pantry, complete with an iMove shelf for easy-reach vertical storage.
In December, we finished working on the Terrace custom pantry. This project was brought to us by two clients who love to cook and were looking for an upgrade from a pantry unit they had bought for their back wall. Joey came back to them with an idea for a tall, beautiful new pantry with plenty of room for storage. They now have enough room to store their pans, canned goods, pantry ingredients, and even their appliances all in the same space.
Holiday Celebrations
HArts Design+Build out at lunch at Orchard City Kitchen in Campbell
The winter winds also brought along some holiday cheer! We exchanged cards and gifts and went out for a company lunch at Orchard City Kitchen. The highlights of the season were definitely the desserts that came with little shovel spoons, and sharing chocolates from aL chocoLat Boutique with our amazing partners.
Full Home Prep
Lastly, we began to work on a full-home remodel which we’ll finish in the new year! Some items on our client’s remodeling Wishlist include cabinets that reach up to the ceiling, a new sink, a kitchen island, and tearing down the kitchen wall to create an open concept with a redone living room. We’re so excited to show you the results in the New Year!
