What You’ll Do

As a Construction Project Assistant, you will be the backbone of our operations, keeping both office and field teams running seamlessly from pre-construction through final inspections. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Document & Project Management: Organize job files, process critical documentation, and keep project schedules tracking smoothly.
  • Financial & Procurement Support: Assist with financial accounting, purchase orders, material procurement, and estimate preparation.
  • Client & Team Communication: Serve as a reliable, professional bridge between clients, subcontractors, and field crews.
  • Field & Office Support: Step in wherever needed—from site visits to final quality checks—to maintain our high standards of work.

What We’re Looking For

  • Industry Experience: Prior experience in a construction office or within the design-build industry is preferred.
  • Software & Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with construction project management platforms like CoConstruct, BuilderTrend, or JobTread is ideal. Proficiency using AI tools to optimize workflows is a big plus!
  • Attention to Detail: Impeccable accuracy and follow-through that ensure fast turnarounds and consistently exceed client expectations.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable balancing office administration with field support.

What You’ll Do

  • Site Preparation: Help protect client homes by installing floor protection and dust barriers prior to demolition.
  • Active Site Support: Assist with demolition, bagging debris, and loading the company van.
  • Maintenance & Photography: Visit sites 2–3 times per week (30–45 min sessions) to sweep, vacuum, and document progress via photos.
  • Tool Stewardship: Responsible for the cleaning and preventative maintenance of tools (oiling hinges, wiping dust, and organizing parts).
  • Logistics & Errands: Occasional pickups from Home Depot, Lowe’s, or Ace.

Requirements

  • Reliability: You are punctual and consistent.
  • Transportation: Ideal to have a truck or van capable of hauling 4×8 panels for occasional errands (gas/mileage reimbursed).
  • Location: Ability to travel to job sites in South Bay, Santa Cruz, and San Mateo.
  • Growth Mindset: We want someone committed to this role for at least a year. In exchange, we provide hands-on training and a clear path to move up into advanced construction or lead roles.
  • Experience: Prior experience with construction materials is a plus, but we are happy to train the right person with a great attitude.
  • Ideal position for retiree who’s experienced in construction products, has truck/ van and wants to earn extra income.
